Today I am sharing another one of Maayan’s nursery projects. And also welcoming baby Elly Renee to the world! She is a beautiful, sweet little one! I am so excited for my friends and I’m sure my excitement will lead to a lot more baby sewing projects in the future 🙂
I bought the little natural colored houses at a craft supply shop in Tel Aviv so try your own local shops to find them (there are a lot chipper than the designed painted ones). I got then separated and after we painted them, we attached them together. Because the room is small and the wall already had a strong color, we only wanted to paint the inner side with white color and leave all rest with natural wood.
You will need:
- House shaped shelves
- Acrylic paint
- Small brush or sponge
- Glue for wood
- Hammer and nails
Step 1- tape and paint
Apply tape over the edges of the (soon to be painted) area. That will help you create a straight line and not make a big mess 🙂 then start painting with your preferred color, you might need to wait 15 minutes and apply a second coat. If you are not into painting you can also try wallpaper.
Step 2- attach the houses
After the paint is dry take the houses and Add glue to the sides that attach to each other. Let them dry for 24 hours (or whatever the instruction on the glue says). While they dry place them between books so it will have presser on both sided.
Step 3- hang them
After the shelves are completely dry, add the handles (usually comes with the shelves) and hang in your kids bedroom or nursery!
