Today I want to show you how to embroider an easy and quick butterfly that can add fun and joy to your embroidery. This tutorial is part of the stitch guide for my new floral dress embroidery kit and you can watch the full floral embroidery here.

If you didn’t subscribe to my YouTube channel yet, you can do it now! I upload a new video every week and you don’t want to miss out!
How to stitch a butterfly
I will use lazy daisy stitches for the wings and regular stitches for the antennas.
The wings
- Bring your needle up and then back down close to the exit point but leave an inch of thread loos.
- Now bring your needle back through the fabric from where the top of the wing would be.
- With the needle go through the loop you previously created, and then bring your needle back down through the fabric very close to the exit point but from the other side of the loop.
You can stitch all the wings with the same thread and tie a knot at the end of the last stitch to secure the thread to the fabric.

The antennas
Add two antennas by doing a regular stitch, just going up and down with your needle. Do it twice, one time for each antenna.
I hope you would try this easy embroidery tutorial, and if you do please let me know in the comments or tag me on Instagram so I could be so proud of you!
