How to hand embroider leaves
In my new video I show you how to hand embroider 4 different kinds of leaves. You will learn how to stitch a fish bone leaf, how to create a leaf with a pointed end with satin stitch, how to stitch leaves with lazy daisy embroidery technique and how to make quick and easy leaves with back stitch.
If you like this greenery design you can get it here in my shop. It is now available as an embroidery PDF pattern you can download immediately to your computer. This pattern is great for beginners and have all the instructions you need to fully understand how to stitch the embroidery art and also how to prepare the thread, back the hoop and more.
Quick embroidery tutorial:
Back stitch leaf
Use back stitch to create a branch, use the the thread as is with 6 strands and stitch in short or long stitches as you like.
Create an interesting texture to your embroidery with a fishbone stitch. You need to make the stitches close and don’t forget to switch sides 🙂
Satin stitch leaf
This one sure does takes time but it will give your embroidery great color patches and it will look beautiful. Just stitch the shapes outline going from one side to the other.
Lazy daisy leaf
I love this stitch for flowers, I also made this tutorial to make little butterfly with it, so why not leaves too?? Takes a minute to get it right but once you do it is a quick way to add another fancy technique to your embroidery project.
